Attracting more than 22 million visitors annually, the Peak District National Park is surely one of the most beautiful places to visit in England.

We are a small and friendly Country Pub, Restaurant and Hotel located in the Peak village of Whatstandwell in Derbyshire's lower Derwent Valley.

The Hotel commands a prominent riverside location adjacent to Whatstandwell Bridge where the main A6 crosses the River Derwent.

We are close to the popular tourist towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath and a mile or so from Crich village, home to the National Tramway Museum and ‘Cardale’ in ITV’s ‘Peak Practice’.

We are immensely proud of local girl Dame Ellen MacArthur, who was born and raised in Whatstandwell village.
Sailing sensation Ellen is now an internationally celebrated yachtswoman and, until recently, holder of the record for the fastest non-stop single-handed round the world voyage.

We are open from 12 - 2.30pm and then 5.30 - 11pm Monday to Friday and 12 - 11pm Saturday and Sunday. We serve quality home-cooked food from 12 - 2.30pm and 5.30 - 8.30pm Monday to Saturday, 12 - 4pm Sunday.
